H175

The Airbus Helicopters H175 is a super-medium utility helicopter known for combining long range with smooth flight qualities, efficiency, and comfort. Originally launched as the Eurocopter EC175 in 2008 and first flown in December 2009, it entered service in December 2014. The renaming to H175 occurred in 2015 as part of Eurocopter’s corporate rebranding to Airbus Helicopters. Airbus Helicopters, the manufacturer, is a division of the multinational aerospace corporation Airbus. The H175 is also produced in China by the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) as the Avicopter AC352.

The H175 is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6C-67E turboshaft engines and utilizes the Airbus-designed Helionix avionics system. It has set time-to-climb records and is capable of high cruise speeds (around 160 knots).

Common missions for the H175 include offshore energy transport, search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS), law enforcement, firefighting, and governmental/VIP transport. It is utilized globally, with operators like the Hong Kong Government Flying Service using it for challenging SAR operations, such as during typhoons. The H175 is valued for its capacity (12-18 passengers) and large cabin volume in its class.
