GY80-160D

The GY80-160D is part of the GY-80 Horizon series, a line of four-seat light aircraft introduced by SUD – AVIATION S N C A. Designed by Yves Gardan, the aircraft is known for its touring and training capabilities. The GY-80 program began in the early 1960s, with the first prototype flight occurring on July 21, 1960. A total of 267 aircraft of this type were manufactured.

SUD – AVIATION S N C A, a foundational French aerospace manufacturer, was established in 1957 through the merger of Sud-Est Aviation and Sud-Ouest Aviation. The company played a critical role in French aviation, producing various aircraft, including jets and helicopters, before ultimately becoming a component of the larger state-owned entity, Aerospatiale, in 1970.

A range of platforms and access solutions are available to support detailed maintenance for this aircraft. These solutions provide reliable access to critical areas, including the Nose Section (for windshield and cockpit tasks), the Forward Fuselage (for cabin access), and both the Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear. Access to the Middle Fuselage, Wing Box Area, and Wing & Engine Pylon is accommodated, addressing maintenance needs such as fuel tanks and engine checks. Access equipment also supports work on the AFT Fuselage and the Tail Section (Empennage), including the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
