GY80-150

The GY80-150, commonly known as the Gardan GY-80 Horizon, is a light, four-seat touring aircraft. Its design lineage is rooted in the work of Yves Gardan. The GY-80-150 variant is noted for its conventional tricycle landing gear and reliable performance as a general aviation aircraft.

SUD – AVIATION S N C A, the aircraft’s manufacturer, was a major French aerospace company. It was formed in 1957 from the merger of Sud-Est Aviation and Sud-Ouest Aviation. Sud Aviation played a significant role in French aviation, perhaps most famously for developing the Caravelle jetliner. The company manufactured the GY-80 design under license before it became part of a larger consolidation in the late 1960s and early 1970s that eventually led to the formation of Aerospatiale.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are utilized to support maintenance across this aircraft. For accessing the main systems, stands such as the Reach Deck Platform and Super Maintenance Platform provide height for detailed work on the Wing & Engine Pylon section, including the engine components and fuel systems. Access equipment is indispensable for the thorough inspection of the Tail Section, covering the vertical and horizontal stabilisers. Similarly, platforms assist technicians during maintenance on the Forward Fuselage, targeting areas like the Cabin Access and Cargo/Baggage sections, ensuring all parts of this light aircraft remain airworthy.
