GENAIRCO

The GENAIRCO biplane was an Australian-designed light aircraft, developed and produced by the General Aircraft Company (Genairco). This company, based in Australia, gained initial experience by overhauling and repairing de Havilland DH60 Cirrus Moths for the RAAF, and subsequently built local DH60X Cirrus II Moth examples before developing their own “Aussie Moth” derivative. The GENAIRCO, which made its first flight in 1929, was a two-seat biplane, sometimes configured as a floatplane, often powered by a de Havilland Gipsy 2 engine. Production totaled nine aircraft before the company was taken over by Tugan Aircraft.

Maintaining this class of aircraft, including its nose section (windshield & cockpit), landing gear, and general access points, requires flexible and sturdy access solutions. Products like the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms can facilitate access to the forward fuselage and wing areas for thorough inspections and necessary repairs. For propeller and engine work, elevated maintenance platforms offer the necessary reach. The compact nature of the aircraft’s systems also makes platform ladders and trestle scaffolds useful for accessing detailed components like controls and wiring.
