GAZELLE H.T. MK.2

The GAZELLE H.T. MK.2 is a training helicopter variant of the Aérospatiale Gazelle, specifically built for the British Fleet Air Arm. This helicopter, known in its French designation as the SA 341C, was powered by the Astazou IIIN2 engine and featured a stability augmentation system and a hoist, making it an excellent platform for pilot instruction. The first flight of this variant was on July 6, 1972, with operational service beginning on December 10, 1974. A total of 30 units were produced.

The manufacturer, SUD (Sud Aviation), was a French state-owned aerospace company formed on March 1, 1957, through the merger of SNCASO and SNCASE. SUD played a crucial role in French aviation, developing the Caravelle jetliner and the Super Frelon helicopter. SUD Aviation merged with Nord Aviation and SEREB on July 10, 1970, to form Aérospatiale.

Maintenance often requires specialized solutions for access around the aircraft. Elevated access equipment, platforms, and stands can be used to service the helicopter’s various sections, including the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Landing Gear (NLG, MLG), and the Wing & Engine Pylon (Engine Inlet/Exhaust, Engine Body). Furthermore, access equipment assists with tasks in the AFT Fuselage and the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser).
