GA-200

The GA-200 is a light agricultural aircraft, featuring a single engine and two seats, designed for aerial application tasks. The type first flew in 1990 and entered service in March 1991, offering a dedicated design for high-performance agricultural work.

Gippsland Aeronautics, the Australian manufacturer (now GippsAero and part of Mahindra Aerospace), started by modifying existing agricultural aircraft to improve performance and safety in the late 1980s. This work led them to design their own aircraft. Early prototypes of the GA-200 were loosely based on Piper Pawnee frames, but the aircraft achieved full certification in March 1991, marking its entry into service with an all-original airframe design soon following.
