Its manufacturing history traces back to the Beech Aircraft Corporation, which designed and initially produced the Bonanza series. Beech Aircraft became a subsidiary of Raytheon Aircraft Company in 1980. The G36 variant itself was certified in 2005. Raytheon was later acquired by Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) in 2007, which is the current manufacturer of the G36.
