G-164A

The G-164A is the Grumman Ag Cat, a foundational single-engined biplane designed for agricultural use in the 1950s. The ‘A’ model, succeeding the original G-164, was engineered with a 450 hp Pratt & Whitney R-985 radial engine, featuring higher gross weight and increased capacity. Production of the Ag Cat series was largely contracted to Schweizer Aircraft Corporation. The legacy manufacturer, Grumman Corporation, merged with Northrop Corporation in 1994 to create Northrop Grumman, a global defense and aerospace technology giant.

The following platforms and access solutions support maintenance across the aircraft:

For the nose section (including radome, antenna, and cockpit), products like the Ultraraise and Super Service Stand ensure access.

To service the forward fuselage (main doors, cargo, wheel well access) and landing gear, Modular Stepover Platforms and Platform Ladders are essential. Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platforms address the wing box and fuel systems in the middle fuselage.

For detailed work on the wing and engine pylon (covering inlets, fans, turbines, and hydraulics), the Super Trestle Scaffold and Super Maintenance Platform provide necessary heights and stability. The tail section (stabilizers, rudder, and APU compartments) is serviceable using Ultraraise and Super Trestle Scaffold configurations. Reach Deck Platforms and other specialized stands provide comprehensive access for general maintenance tasks.
