G-115

The G-115 is a light, propeller-driven general-aviation aircraft, foundational for basic pilot training worldwide. It is distinguished by its fixed low-wing and tricycle undercarriage. Developed and introduced in 1985, the G-115 is constructed using carbon composite materials, with the main fuselage and wing spar manufactured as single pieces, demonstrating advanced use of fiber composite material. The aircraft is capable of performing basic aerobatic maneuvers.

The manufacturer, GROB – Burkhaart Flugzeugbau, now operating as Grob Aircraft, was founded in Tussenhausen, Germany, in 1971. The company established itself as a pioneer in the use of carbon fiber composite materials for aircraft construction. The G-115 (known as the Tutor in military service) was first delivered to primary users, including the Royal Air Force, starting in 1999. The type remains active in trainer roles for various air forces across four continents.

A range of elevated access solutions is utilized for detailed and methodical maintenance on this aircraft, addressing areas such as the Nose Section, Forward Fuselage, Landing Gear, Wing Box Area, and Tail Section.
