FI 156C3

The FI 156C3 is a variant of the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch, an iconic German liaison and reconnaissance aircraft known for its impressive short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance. With a stall speed as low as 31 mph, the Storch could almost hover in a strong headwind, enabling its use in critical missions, such as landing troops behind enemy lines.

The manufacturer, Gerhard Fieseler WERKE, was founded by World War I flying ace Gerhard Fieseler. The company, based in Kassel, Germany, produced the Storch from the late 1930s. The design was so successful that its manufacture continued for some years after WWII by other companies under license.
