F406

The F406 Caravan II is a twin-engine turboprop aircraft, an evolved version of the piston-propeller Cessna 404 Titan. Designed for versatility, this aircraft can be configured for commercial transport, typically seating eight to ten passengers, and has also served military and coast guard roles, including maritime patrol.

The manufacturer, REIMS Aviation S A, was a notable French aviation company with a history of building aircraft, including the Broussard MH. 1521. Critically, the company maintained a long collaboration with the American manufacturer Cessna, producing several light aircraft models for the European market between 1962 and 2013. Production of the F406 began in 1983 and continued until REIMS Aviation filed for bankruptcy in 2013.

Maintenance access for the F406 requires sturdy, hard-wearing platforms and stands to reach all sections. Platforms are indispensable for the Nose Section (radome, avionics, cockpit access) and the Forward Fuselage (entry door, cargo, wheel well). Specialized stands provide detailed access for the Wing and Engine Pylon (inlet, exhaust, compressor, turbine, fuel pumps) and the Tail Section (stabilizers, rudder). Adjustable platforms are also ideal for general access across the Middle Fuselage and AFT Fuselage, ensuring methodical and safe maintenance of fuel tanks, cabin interior, and rear avionics.
