F-260

The F-260 (SIAI-Marchetti SF.260, now Leonardo SF-260) is an Italian light aircraft popular globally as a military trainer and aerobatic platform. Designed by Stelio Frati, the prototype first flew as the F.260 on July 15, 1964. Production was soon taken over by SIAI Marchetti, which manufactured the aircraft through 1997. The aircraft is powered by a single Lycoming O-540 engine, capable of 260 hp. Its versatile design made it highly attractive to numerous air forces for both training and light combat roles, with many armed versions featuring underwing hardpoints.

SIAI Marchetti, the Italian aviation manufacturer, played a critical role in the aircraft’s history before the company was acquired by Aermacchi in 1997. Over 900 units were built during its main production run. The F-260 remains in service with military and private operators worldwide.

Servicing the F-260 requires appropriate access solutions for detailed and methodical inspection. Specialized platforms and stands are necessary for comprehensive maintenance across various aircraft sections, including the nose avionics, landing gear, wing box area, engine components, and tail section. Access products such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Ultraraise support access to critical areas for maximum operational efficiency.
