ERJ 190-100 IGW

The ERJ 190-100 IGW is a foundational member of the E-Jet family, a highly successful line of twin-engine regional airliners. The “IGW” designation stands for Increased Gross Weight, reflecting its enhanced operational capability. This aircraft, which first flew in March 2004 and entered service in November 2005, is powered by two General Electric CF34-10E engines, providing a cruising speed of Mach 0.76 and a range of approximately 2,450 nautical miles. It is designed to seat up to 100 passengers.

The manufacturer, Embraer, is a foundational Brazilian aerospace company. Established in 1969 with government support, the company initially focused on military and regional turboprop aircraft, such as the EMB 110 Bandeirante. Embraer privatized in 1994, leading to a period of rapid growth and diversification. The introduction of the ERJ 145 series cemented its place in the regional jet market, paving the way for the larger, clean-sheet E-Jet family (E170, E175, E190, E195), which has become a paramount global platform for short-to-medium-haul routes.
