EH-60A Black Hawk

The EH-60A Black Hawk is a member of the Sikorsky S-70 family of medium-lift utility helicopters. The aircraft’s history is foundational to modern military rotary-wing aviation. Manufactured by Sikorsky, the program began its flight history with the YUH-60A prototype in 1974. Following a competition, the U.S. Army selected the Black Hawk for production in 1976. Deliveries of the UH-60A (the base model for the EH-60A) began in 1978, and the helicopter entered service in 1979. Sikorsky has been manufacturing this line of aircraft since 1974, with over 5,000 units built by January 2023.
