The EC135 T2 is a foundational helicopter model manufactured by Airbus Helicopters, a division founded in 1992 as Eurocopter SA from the merger of Aérospatiale and Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm. It was rebranded as Airbus Helicopters in 2014. The EC135 T2 itself, a twin-engine light utility helicopter, entered production in August 2002, replacing the earlier T1 variant. It features two powerful Turbomeca Arrius 2B2 engines, offering increased performance for tasks like emergency medical services, law enforcement, and utility operations.
A range of platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance around this aircraft. The Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog address various access and maintenance requirements.
These products are indispensable for reaching all areas of the airframe. The various platforms and scaffolds provide safe, sturdy access for the detailed inspection and repair of the Nose Section, which includes the radome and avionics. For the Forward Fuselage, they facilitate access to the main entry door, cargo areas, and environmental control system components.
When addressing the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), the platforms ensure safe positioning for thorough checks. Access solutions enable work on the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, supporting oil maintenance, fuel tank servicing, and internal cabin work. Platforms are equally paramount for the Wing and Engine Pylon sections, necessary for tasks involving the engine body, fan, compressor, turbine, and hydraulic systems. Finally, the platforms support access to the AFT Fuselage, including the aft bulkhead and APU compartments, and the entire Tail Section for maintenance on the vertical and horizontal stabilizers.
