Airbus Helicopters, formerly Eurocopter, has a history rooted in the merger of the helicopter divisions of Aerospatiale and Daimler-Benz Aerospace (DASA). The company stands as a foundational force in the global rotorcraft industry. The EC130 T2 model represents an evolution of the EC130 B4, first delivered in 2001. The T2 variant was launched at Heli-Expo in 2012, featuring key upgrades like a more powerful Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine, offering 10% more average power, along with improved air conditioning and a full-flat floor. The T2 is a single-engine helicopter used for missions including law enforcement, search and rescue, executive transport, and emergency medical services (EMS).
Access platforms are used for thorough maintenance across various sections of the EC 130 T2. These include the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog.
These platforms address maintenance needs across all aircraft zones. Nose Section access is crucial for the radome, antenna, nose avionics, and cockpit area. For the Forward Fuselage, access is required for entry doors, cargo areas, lighting systems, and the environmental control system. The Landing Gear (NLG and MLG) requires access for routine checks. In the Middle Fuselage, technicians utilize stands for the wing box, fuel tanks, and cabin interior maintenance. The Wing & Engine Pylon necessitates access for anti-ice systems, engine components (inlet, exhaust, fan, turbine), hydraulics, and fuel systems. AFT Fuselage maintenance covers the bulkhead, cargo, doors, and rear avionics. The Tail Section (Empennage) requires elevated access for the vertical and horizontal stabilizers, rudder, and the APU components (intake, generator, compressor, exhaust port).
