EA-6B Prowler

The EA-6B Prowler is a twin-engine, four-seat electronic-warfare aircraft, derived from the Grumman A-6 Intruder airframe. It was the backbone of electronic attack for the United States Navy and Marine Corps, serving from its introduction in 1971 until its retirement in 2019.

Manufacturing of the Prowler began under Grumman, which later became part of Northrop Grumman. Production ran from 1966 to 1991, with 170 units built. Throughout its service life, the EA-6B received several significant upgrades, including the Improved Capability (ICAP) programs, which allowed it to carry and fire anti-radiation missiles like the AGM-88 HARM.

Various access solutions support detailed maintenance across this complex aircraft. Platforms and stands, such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand, facilitate work on all major sections. These solutions address access needs for the Nose Section (including the Radome, Antenna, and Windshield & Cockpit), the Forward and AFT Fuselage, the Landing Gear, and the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (including the Fuel Tanks and Oil Maintenance). Specialized equipment, including the Cantilever Platform, supports access to the Wing & Engine Pylon section (covering the Engine, Pylon, and Hydraulics) and the Tail Section (Empennage), particularly the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilizers.
