The EA-300/200 represents the commitment of EXTRA Aircraft to championship-level aerobatics. The Extra 200, first flying in April 1996, is a development derived from the acclaimed Extra EA-300. While the EA-300 features a 300 hp Lycoming engine, the slightly smaller EA-200 is powered by a 200 hp (150 kW) Lycoming engine. Despite the difference in power, the EA-200 delivers flying characteristics similar to the 300, capable of all unlimited maneuvers, making it an excellent aerobatic training and sports aircraft.
EXTRA Aircraft was founded by German aerobatic pilot Walter Extra. The design of the original Extra 300 in 1987 followed the wood-winged Extra 230. The later 300 series utilized composite materials, featuring a welded steel tube fuselage covered in aluminum and fabric, and a carbon fiber composite wing spar. The manufacturer is globally recognized for producing high-performance monoplanes for Unlimited category competition.
