The E170 is a regional jet produced by Embraer, a foundational company in the global aerospace industry. Embraer, formally Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica, S.A., was established in 1969 in Brazil and has grown to be a leading manufacturer of commercial, executive, and military aircraft. The E170 marked the beginning of the highly successful E-Jet family. Announced in 1999, the aircraft’s maiden flight was in February 2002. Following certification, it entered service in March 2004 with LOT Polish Airlines as the launch customer.
