DV20 KATANA 100

The DV20 Katana 100 is a two-seat, all-composite light aircraft designed for general aviation and training. This Austrian-designed plane, a variant of the successful DV20/DA20 Katana series, is known for its durable construction and favorable flight characteristics. The Katana 100 model is typically powered by a Bombardier Rotax engine.

Diamond Aircraft Industries began its history in 1981 in Friesach, Austria, under the name Hoffmann Flugzeugbau. Founded by Wolf Hoffmann, the company focused on developing efficient light aircraft, eventually becoming known for its distinctive composite designs. The DV20/DA20 Katana, which first flew in 1991, was a foundational aircraft, developed from the earlier Diamond HK36 Super Dimona motor glider. Production of the Katana began in 1994, with manufacturing expanding to a new facility in Canada to meet North American market demand.

A selection of access platforms and solutions are available for this aircraft. These products, which include Modular Stepover Platforms, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stands, provide safe and precise access for maintenance around critical areas. They support tasks related to the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit), Landing Gear (Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear), and the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (Oil Maintenance, Wing Box). Furthermore, the A Frame Aviation Platform and Platform Ladder Warthog assist in accessing the Tail Section (Vertical Stabiliser and Horizontal Stabiliser) and the entire aircraft structure for general maintenance.
