DHC-8-402

The DHC-8-402 is the paramount variant of the Dash 8 family of turboprop airliners, known for its high-speed cruise performance. Its operational efficiency and short-field capability make it an ideal aircraft for regional routes.

The manufacturer, Bombardier, has a significant history rooted in Canadian aviation. The Dash 8 line began with de Havilland Canada (DHC), which developed the foundational aircraft. Bombardier acquired DHC in 1992, subsequently developing the Q Series, including the DHC-8-400 series. Bombardier continued production until selling the Q400 program in 2019, cementing its foundational role in modern regional air travel.

Access solutions are indispensable for maintenance across the DHC-8-402. For the Nose Section and Forward Fuselage access, modular platforms and platform ladders are critical for detailed work on the radome, avionics, and cockpit. The Main Landing Gear and Nose Landing Gear require stable super service stands and trestle scaffold for thorough inspection and repair.

In the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, cantilevers and bridge decks provide versatile access over the wing for fuel tank and oil maintenance, as well as emergency exit checks. For the Wing and Engine Pylon—a crucial area for maintenance of the propeller, fan, and turbine components—platforms with extended reach, such as the Reach Deck Platform, ensure comprehensive coverage. Finally, access to the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage) for APU maintenance and vertical/horizontal stabiliser checks is facilitated by super trestle scaffold and cantilever platforms, providing sturdy access to these elevated sections.
