DHC-4

The DHC-4 Caribou is a heavy-duty, short take-off and landing (STOL) transport aircraft, initially flown on July 30, 1958, and introduced in 1961. Manufactured by DE Havilland Canada, the aircraft saw production between 1958 and 1968, with 307 units built. It served extensively as a military transporter for users including the Royal Canadian Air Force, United States Army and Air Force, and the Royal Australian Air Force, valued for its ability to operate from unprepared airstrips. The aircraft’s type certificate is now owned by De Havilland Canada, founded in 2019.

Maintaining the DHC-4 requires specialized access solutions. A range of platforms and stands are utilized for methodical access across all critical sections. For the Nose Section, solutions assist with the radome, antenna, and cockpit. Platforms support access to the Forward Fuselage, including cargo doors and wheel wells. The maintenance process also addresses the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box areas, which cover vital components like fuel tanks and the wing box structure.

Access solutions are also instrumental for the Wing and Engine Pylon, enabling detailed servicing of the engine, fan, turbine, and hydraulic systems. Furthermore, these platforms support work on the Aft Fuselage (bulkheads, cargo, and rear avionics) and the Tail Section (empennage, stabilizers, and rudder). Products like the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms ensure complete and comprehensive maintenance across the DHC-4.
