DHC 2 MK. I (L20A)

The DHC 2 MK. I (L20A) is a variant of the legendary DHC-2 Beaver, a short takeoff and landing (STOL) utility transport aircraft. It has been primarily operated as a bush plane, widely utilized for cargo, passenger hauling, and various civil and military duties across over 65 countries. The L-20A designation specifically refers to the version supplied to the U.S. Army, with 968 units built and later redesignated as the U-6A.

DE Havilland Canada, the manufacturer, developed the Beaver with direct input from Canadian bush pilots, resulting in its successful, highly capable design. The inaugural flight was on August 16, 1947, and production ran from 1947 to 1967, resulting in 1,657 units. The company’s design later led to the DHC-3 Otter.
