DHC-1A-2

The DHC-1A-2 is part of the de Havilland Chipmunk series, which was originally designed by de Havilland after World War II as a primary trainer. It was intended to replace the ubiquitous Tiger Moth.

The manufacturer, DE Havilland (formally De Havilland Canada), was a significant entity in aviation history. The Chipmunk proved foundational, training thousands of pilots globally, including His Royal Highness the Duke of Edinburgh for his initial flight training in 1952. While primarily a trainer, the aircraft also performed roles in light communications and internal security. Manufacturing extended beyond De Havilland, with production also handled by OGMA in Portugal.

A range of platforms and access solutions support methodical maintenance around this aircraft. These products include deck platforms, modular stepover platforms, scaffold, and maintenance stands, aiding access to critical areas such as the Nose Section (radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield & cockpit, bulkhead), Landing Gear (NLG, MLG), and the Wing and Engine Pylon. General access across the airframe is also addressed.
