DHC-1 MK 22

The DHC-1 MK 22 is a variant of the de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk, a tandem-seat, single-engine basic trainer aircraft. The DHC-1 was designed as a replacement for the legendary de Havilland Tiger Moth and served as the primary trainer for air forces across the Commonwealth. The Chipmunk’s reputation for gentle handling and aerobatic capabilities ensured its success.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (DHC) was founded in 1928 as a subsidiary of the British de Havilland Aircraft company. Located near Toronto, DHC specialized in producing aircraft suited for Canadian conditions, including bush planes and trainers. The DHC-1 Chipmunk, which first flew in 1946, marked the first original design produced by DHC. Over 1,000 Chipmunks were built in Canada, the UK, and Portugal, solidifying the aircraft’s foundational role in post-war pilot training.

Various platforms and access solutions support detailed maintenance and inspection for the DHC-1 MK 22.
