DH-60X

The DH-60X Moth is a light, two-seat biplane, part of the phenomenally successful DH.60 Moth series first flown in 1925. The original DH.60 was quickly recognized as ideal for training and touring due to its affordability, simple maintenance, and folding wings for easy storage. The DH.60X, originally designated for experimental purposes, was soon rebranded as the Cirrus II Moth, featuring an uprated ADC Cirrus Mark II engine. This model helped establish the aircraft as a standard trainer globally.

The aircraft was developed by the De Havilland Aircraft Company, founded by Geoffrey de Havilland. The company focused on light aircraft, achieving early success with the Moth series, which later evolved into the renowned DH.82 Tiger Moth. De Havilland Aircraft of Canada began assembling Moth aircraft in Toronto by 1928, further cementing the type’s role in flying clubs and military service.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are available for servicing this classic aircraft. Modular platforms and trestle scaffold provide sturdy access for work on the wings, tail section (empennage), and engine bay, ensuring detailed maintenance of the ADC Cirrus engine. These resources also support essential work on the nose section, including the windshield and cockpit.
