DH-60M

The DH-60 Moth, manufactured by DE Havilland, is renowned as the world’s first truly practical and successful light airplane for both military and private owners. The prototype, a development of the DH.51 biplane, first flew on February 22, 1925, controlled by Geoffrey de Havilland.

DE Havilland Aircraft Company, founded by Sir Geoffrey de Havilland in 1920, became a foundational company in British aviation, known for pioneering aircraft designs. The original DH.60 Moth featured wooden construction, a plywood-covered fuselage, and fabric-covered flight surfaces. It was initially powered by a 60 hp ADC Cirrus I engine. Successive models featured uprated engines, such as the 80 hp Cirrus II in the DH.60X. The DH.60M variant continued this lineage, solidifying the Moth’s reputation before being succeeded by the DH.60G Moth.

Maintenance of this aircraft requires methodical access solutions for several critical areas. A range of platforms and stands are used, including the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Service Stand. These access solutions facilitate detailed work across the aircraft.

For the Nose Section, access products support work on the windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead. Access is also provided for the Forward Fuselage, Landing Gear, and the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, essential for inspecting the wing box and fuel tanks. Platforms are also utilized for the Aft Fuselage and Tail Section.
