DA 40 F

Diamond Aircraft Industries, the manufacturer of the DA 40 F, traces its history to 1981 with the establishment of Hoffmann Flugzeugbau in Austria by Wolf Hoffmann. Following a series of name changes, the company became Diamond Aircraft in 1996. The company is now headquartered in Wiener Neustadt, Austria, with additional production in Canada, and was acquired by Wanfeng Aviation in 2017. Diamond Aircraft is recognized for its commitment to aviation innovation, particularly in composite aircraft.

The DA40 Diamond Star, upon which the DA 40 F model is based, is an Austrian four-seat, single-engine light aircraft constructed from composite materials. Developed as a four-seat derivative of the earlier DA20, the DA40 first flew in 1997 and received type certification in 2000. It remains in production today, with over 2,200 units built as of December 2020, making it a foundational aircraft for personal flying and training.

A variety of access and working platforms are available to support the maintenance of the DA 40 F. For tasks in the Nose Section and Forward Fuselage (including windshield, avionics, and cabin access), platforms like the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Platform Ladder Warthog provide the necessary elevation. The Main Landing Gear and Nose Landing Gear require secure access, which can be achieved with the Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley and Super Service Stand. For working on the Wing & Engine Pylon sections, which includes anti-ice systems, fuel pumps, and engine components, elevated stands such as the Ultraraise and Super Maintenance Platform are essential. Access to the Tail Section (Empennage), including the stabilisers and rudder, can be reached using the Bridge Deck or Cantilever Platform. Specialized solutions like the Branach Fibreglass Platform may be used for electrical or sensitive areas. These elevated working platforms are fundamental for thorough maintenance across all areas of the aircraft.
