D18-S

The Beechcraft D18-S, part of the Beech Model 18 series, is an all-metal utility aircraft manufactured by the Beech Aircraft Corporation, a company founded by Walter Beech in 1932. Production of the Model 18 ran from 1937 to 1969, making it one of the longest-produced aircraft in history. Its early capability was showcased in the 1940 Macfadden Race, where a D18S won first place, averaging 234 mph. Over 9,000 units were built, serving numerous roles from military transport to commercial passenger and cargo operations.

A variety of platforms and access solutions are available for this aircraft, addressing maintenance needs across multiple sections. These solutions, including deck platforms, modular stepover platforms, and cantilever platforms, allow for detailed work on the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Avionics), the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance).

Access tools also facilitate maintenance on the Wing & Engine Pylon, covering the engine (inlet, exhaust, body), fan, compressor, and turbine components. The AFT Fuselage, which includes the AFT Bulkhead and AFT Cargo area, benefits from tailored access, as does the Tail Section (Empennage), ensuring thorough inspection of the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers and the Rudder.
