The CRJ705 is part of the successful Bombardier CRJ Series family of regional jet aircraft, introduced to service in 2001. Developed from the foundational CRJ100/200 models, the CRJ700 series was expanded to meet growing regional transportation needs. This particular variant is known for its higher seating capacity, demonstrating the lineage’s growth in the regional airline sector.
Bombardier’s history began in 1942 with Joseph-Armand Bombardier, who first built motorized vehicles for navigating snow-covered terrain in Québec, Canada. The company expanded into the aerospace industry by acquiring the state-owned Canadair in 1986 and Short Brothers in 1989. This strategic growth led to the development of the CRJ series, which revolutionized regional air travel and established Bombardier as a major player in aviation. Production of the CRJ series ran from 1991 to 2020.
