Combat Talon II/Combat Shadow

The Combat Talon II (MC-130H) and its variants, like the Combat Shadow, are highly specialized special operations aircraft derived from the C-130 Hercules platform. Manufacturer Lockheed Martin, a foundational developer in aerospace, produced the Combat Talon II airframe. The MC-130H first flew in 1984, was delivered between 1991 and 1994, and achieved Initial Operational Capability (IOC) in June 1993, with 24 units produced for the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC).

Servicing this complex aircraft requires specialized height access solutions. A range of platforms and stands, including Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, and Super Service Stand, address detailed maintenance requirements across the aircraft structure.

These access solutions are indispensable for the Nose Section, supporting work on the radome, antenna, nose avionics, windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead. They facilitate access to the Forward Fuselage for the Main Entry Door, cargo areas, and Environmental Control System. For the Landing Gear, they support both Nose Landing Gear and Main Landing Gear inspection. They also provide essential access to the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area (including fuel tanks and oil maintenance) and the Tail Section (Empennage) for work on the APU, vertical stabilizer, and horizontal stabilizer. The platforms further support thorough maintenance across the Wing & Engine Pylon section, covering the engine inlet/exhaust, fan, compressor, turbine, and fuel systems.
