CA-27 MK 32

The CA-27 MK 32 Sabre is a fighter/bomber aircraft produced by the Commonwealth Aircraft Corporation (CAC). CAC, based in Melbourne, Australia, was foundational to the nation’s aerospace industry, manufacturing aircraft under license for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). The company built the CA-27 Sabre as a significantly redesigned version of the North American F-86 Sabre, adapted to accommodate the larger Rolls-Royce Avon 26 axial flow turbojet engine and armed with two 30 mm Aden cannons.

The RAAF operated the CA-27 from 1954 to 1971. Structural redesign of the fuselage was required for the Avon engine, meaning only 40 percent of the original design could be used. Accepted by the RAAF in January 1957, the aircraft served extensively, including deployment to Butterworth in Malaysia during the 1958-69 period and providing air cover during the opening stages of the Vietnam War.

Maintenance access for this fighter requires access solutions such as Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, Ultraraise, and Platform Ladder Warthogs. These products provide detailed access for sections like the Nose Section (including the Windshield & Cockpit and Bulkhead), the Wing & Engine Pylon (including the Inlet/Exhaust and Engine Body), and the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers).
