C919

The C919 is a narrow-body airliner developed by the Chinese state-owned aircraft manufacturer, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (Comac). The C919 program was formally launched in 2008 with the goal of challenging the dominance of the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 in the global market. The aircraft represents China’s ambitious drive toward self-sufficiency in commercial aviation. It first flew in 2017, with commercial service beginning in 2023.

Comac, the manufacturer, was founded in Shanghai in 2008, consolidating several previous Chinese aerospace efforts into one entity. The company focuses on designing and manufacturing large commercial passenger aircraft, establishing China as a major player in the global aerospace industry.

Maintaining this foundational aircraft requires dependable access solutions for various sections. Platforms and stands are used for the nose section (including the radome and avionics), the landing gear, and the wing and engine pylon area for essential engine component and anti-ice system inspections. Specialized platforms are also needed for the tail section, providing access to the APU compartments and the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. These access products support methodical maintenance across the aircraft’s fuselage, including cargo doors, cabin access points, and the wing box area.
