Beechcraft introduced the C90A as an improved variant of the King Air C90-1, built between 1984 and 1992. The Beechcraft Corporation, established by Walter and Olive Ann Beech in 1932, has a history of producing respected civil and military aircraft, with the King Air series standing out as a successful line of twin-turboprop aircraft since the 1960s. The C90A incorporated enhancements such as improved landing gear retraction, an upgraded electrical system, and the pressurization and heating system from the F90-1 model. It is powered by two Pratt & Whitney PT6A-21 turboprop engines, each delivering 550 shaft horsepower.
Access solutions are essential for the thorough maintenance of this aircraft, addressing needs across multiple sections. Platforms and access equipment, including specialized decks, modular step-overs, and maintenance stands, facilitate maintenance across the entire structure. These systems provide safe and efficient reach for critical areas such as the Nose Section (including avionics and the radome), the Forward Fuselage (for cabin and cargo access), and the Landing Gear (main and nose).
Elevated access tools also support detailed work on the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, where fuel maintenance and interior tasks occur. For the Wing and Engine Pylon, various access solutions enable technicians to service the engines (inlet, exhaust, compressor, turbine) and anti-ice components. Furthermore, platforms assist with the AFT Fuselage (bulkheads and rear avionics) and the Tail Section (empennage, stabilizers, and rudder). These varied access solutions ensure all maintenance tasks are performed with precision across every part of the C90A.
