The Beechcraft C24R Sierra is a light cabin aircraft that accommodates four to six people. First certified in 1976 and introduced in 1977, the C24R was the final model in its production line, which ceased in 1983. This aircraft is powered by a 200-horsepower Lycoming IO-360-A1B6 piston engine and features retractable tricycle landing gear. Improvements on the C model included new aileron bearings for smoother controls and a refreshed cabin vent system, with a gross weight of 2,750 lbs.
Beechcraft’s manufacturing history began in Wichita, Kansas, in 1932, founded by Walter Beech, Olive Ann Beech, and Ted A. Wells, among others. Their first aircraft was the Model 17 Staggerwing. Over the decades, the company produced famous aircraft like the Bonanza and later became a brand of Textron Aviation after passing through ownership by Raytheon and Hawker Beechcraft.
A range of work platforms and access solutions are utilized for maintenance around this aircraft. These include Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Super Maintenance Platform, Branach Fibreglass Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog.
These platforms address access and maintenance needs across various aircraft sections. The Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Forward Fuselage (MED, Cargo/Baggage, Lighting Systems, Cabin Access, ECS, Forward Wheel Well Access), and Landing Gear (NLG + MLG) benefit from these solutions. Access platforms are also vital for the Middle Fuselage / Wing Box Area (Wing Box, Fuel Tanks, Oil Maintenance, Cabin Interior, Wi-Fi, Emergency Exit), Wing & Engine Pylon (including the Engine, Pylon, Flap, Fan, and Hydraulics), and the AFT Fuselage (Bulkhead, Cargo, Cabin Doors, Rear Avionics, and APU Compartments). Furthermore, access is provided for the Tail Section or Empennage (Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, and Rudder), alongside general access requirements.
