C.(L.A.)7

The Comper C.(L.A.)7 Swift is a British single-seat sporting aircraft, recognized as the inaugural aircraft model produced by the Comper Aircraft Company. The prototype, registered G-AARX, first appeared publicly in May 1930. The aircraft quickly gained recognition, notably winning the prestigious Siddeley Trophy in the 1933 King’s Cup Air Race. The Swift established itself as a popular choice among competition pilots and record breakers during the 1930s.

Comper Aircraft Company was founded in 1929 by Flying Officer Nicholas Comper, who previously established the Cranwell Light Aeroplane Club (CLAC) where apprentices built successful light aircraft designs. Comper served as chief designer and managing director, basing the company initially at Hooton Aerodrome in Cheshire. After manufacturing about 41 aircraft, the company relocated to Heston Aerodrome near London in March 1933. The company ceased trading and was renamed the Heston Aircraft Company Ltd. in August 1934.

Maintaining the C.(L.A.)7 Swift requires precise access. Platforms such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and the Super Maintenance Platform support thorough maintenance across various aircraft sections. The Cantilever Platform and A Frame Aviation Platform provide versatile reach for the Wing and Engine Pylon areas. For work around the Nose Section, Forward Fuselage, and Tail Section (Empennage), platforms ensure personnel can perform detailed inspections. The Ultraraise and Easyraise systems are available for achieving optimal working height for maintenance tasks across the aircraft.
