C-34

The C-34 Airmaster is a classic light aircraft, representing the start of the successful Airmaster series from Cessna. Designed by Wallace, the C-34 made its first flight in June 1935. It quickly gained recognition, winning the Detroit News Trophy for efficiency and earning the title of “World’s Most Efficient Airplane.” This model was influential in its era, featuring a high-wing configuration and a fixed landing gear.

Cessna, the manufacturer, was founded by Clyde Cessna in Wichita, Kansas, in 1927. The company became a foundational name in American general aviation. Following the introduction of the C-34, Clyde Cessna retired from the aircraft industry, leaving the company’s future to his nephew.
