C-32

The C-32 is a military transport aircraft, developed from the foundational Boeing 757 commercial airliner. Manufactured by Boeing, this jet is primarily known for transporting the Vice President of the United States (as “Air Force Two”), the First Lady, and the Secretary of State, replacing the aging C-137 Stratoliner. Boeing, an aerospace industry leader, delivered the first C-32 in late June 1998, following a contract award in August 1996. The aircraft features an unrefueled range of 5,500 nautical miles and can land on shorter runways than its predecessor.

Various access solutions address the thorough maintenance requirements of the C-32. Platforms, stands, and scaffolds are essential for the nose section (radome, cockpit, avionics) and the forward fuselage (main entry door, cabin access, ECS). Similarly, they provide required reach for the landing gear (NLG and MLG) during maintenance.

For the middle fuselage and wing box area, access solutions support tasks related to fuel tanks, oil maintenance, and internal cabin work. Dedicated stands and platforms are also utilized extensively around the wing and engine pylon for maintenance on the engine itself (inlet, exhaust, body, and components like the fan, compressor, and turbine) and adjacent hydraulics. Cantilever and bridge solutions grant thorough access to the AFT fuselage components, including bulkheads, cargo, doors, and APU compartments. Finally, specialized platforms ensure detailed access to the tail section (vertical and horizontal stabilizers, rudder, and APU systems).
