C-31A Troopship

The C-31A Troopship is the U.S. Army’s designation for the Fokker F27-400M, a militarized version of the F27 Friendship turboprop airliner. Developed by Fokker and first flown in the mid-1950s, the F27 was designed as a sturdy, combination cargo and passenger aircraft. Fokker, a foundational Dutch aviation manufacturer, established a legacy of producing commercially successful and durable aircraft. Only two C-31As were acquired by the U.S. Army, famously serving as the primary parachute platform for the Golden Knights Parachute Demonstration Team.

Maintenance access for the C-31A Troopship requires specialized solutions across its length. Platforms and stands support detailed servicing of the Nose Section (including radome, antenna, and avionics) and the Landing Gear (NLG + MLG). Access solutions such as the Reach Deck Platform and Modular Stepover Platforms facilitate comprehensive work on the Forward Fuselage (Main Entry Door, cargo access, and ECS) and the AFT Fuselage.

For the high wings and Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines, elevated stands and platforms provide necessary height access for work on the Wing & Engine Pylon sections, including anti-ice systems and hydraulics. Tail Section maintenance, crucial for the vertical and horizontal stabilisers, also relies on this range of access platforms. These maintenance products are indispensable for keeping this historic aircraft operational.
