The BO105 CBS-5 is part of the BO 105 family of light, twin-engine helicopters, notably featuring a hingeless rotor system, a pioneering innovation when it entered service in 1970. Initially developed and manufactured by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) in Germany, production spanned from 1967 to 2001, resulting in over 1,600 units. The lineage of its manufacturer traces through several mergers, eventually becoming part of Airbus Helicopters, formed in 1992 as Eurocopter and renamed in 2014.
Maintenance and access needs across the aircraft are addressed by a variety of stands and platforms. These platforms and access solutions include Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Super Service Stands. These products facilitate maintenance across multiple aircraft sections.
Access to the Nose Section, including the radome, antennas, and windshield, is achieved with these solutions. Forward Fuselage components such as cabin access and lighting systems are readily reached. For the Landing Gear, both nose and main components are accessible. Middle Fuselage areas—like the wing box and fuel tank servicing points—benefit from these specialized platforms.
For the Wing and Engine Pylon, the platforms enable safe access for work on the engine body, inlet, exhaust, fan, and hydraulics. Aft Fuselage sections, including AFT cargo and APU compartments, are accessed, as is the Tail Section for work on the stabilizers and rudder.
