BN2B-20

The BN2B-20 is a variant of the legendary Britten-Norman Islander, a twin-engine light utility aircraft renowned for its versatility and short takeoff and landing (STOL) capabilities. The Islander series is a paramount workhorse in regional air travel, cargo, and specialized missions, known for its high-wing design and spacious cabin.

Britten-Norman, the UK’s only independent commercial aircraft producer, has a foundational history in aviation dating back to the design of the original BN-2 Islander, which first flew in 1965. Following its UK and US certification in 1967, the Islander established a reputation for sturdy design. The company expanded its lineup with models like the BN-2 Trislander in 1970, which featured greater range and capacity. Today, Britten-Norman has produced over 1,300 aircraft, cementing its role as an indispensable manufacturer for utility aviation globally.

A range of platforms and access solutions facilitate maintenance across the aircraft. These platforms are suited for access to the Nose Section components like the Radome and Windshield. They also provide access for maintenance in the Forward Fuselage, including the Cargo/Baggage area and Cabin Access, and for servicing the Landing Gear. The Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform designs are ideal for reaching the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box area for oil maintenance and fuel tank checks, and the Wing & Engine Pylon section for work on the Engine, Fan, and Hydraulics. Specialized stands ensure thorough access to the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section, enabling maintenance on the Vertical Stabiliser and Rudder.
