BN2A-8

The BN2A-8 is a variant of the Britten-Norman Islander, a popular short-haul regional airliner and utility aircraft. The Islander series is renowned for its high-wing configuration, simple sturdy design, and short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities, making it ideal for operating from unpaved or short airstrips.

The manufacturer, Pilatus Britten-Norman, has a history tracing back to the original British company founded by John Britten and Desmond Norman. The Islander’s first flight was in 1965, and it entered service shortly thereafter. Ownership and production have changed hands several times over the decades, including being part of Pilatus Aircraft. Despite changes in parent companies, the Islander aircraft has remained in continuous production, establishing its legacy as one of the best-selling commercial aircraft designed in Europe.

A variety of maintenance platforms and access solutions are utilized to support this aircraft, addressing maintenance needs across multiple sections. For the Wing & Engine Pylon section, solutions are available for servicing the Engine, Pylon, and Undercowl. Access systems are also leveraged for the Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, including the Wing Box and Cabin Interior. Solutions for the Tail Section ensure thorough maintenance of the Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers, as well as the Rudder.
