BN2A-27

The BN2A-27 is a variant of the Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander, a highly successful light transport aircraft known for its utility and short take-off and landing (STOL) capabilities. The original BN-2 Islander first flew in 1965 and achieved certification in 1967. The Islander remains one of the best-selling commercial aircraft types produced in Europe, with over 1,280 units built and continuing in production since the 1960s.

BRITTEN – NORMAN, the manufacturer, originated with founders John Britten and Desmond Norman. They designed the Islander to be a practical, economic, and sturdy aircraft for regional and commuter services. Although ownership of the company has changed hands over the decades, the Islander design remains foundational, serving commercial operators and military forces worldwide.

A diverse range of access platforms and stands supports detailed, methodical maintenance across the BN2A-27. Solutions such as Reach Deck Platforms, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, and Ultraraise aid in accessing critical areas. These platforms facilitate work on the Nose Section (including the windshield, cockpit, and bulkhead), the Landing Gear, the Wing & Engine Pylon sections, and the Tail Section (empennage), ensuring thorough inspection and servicing.
