BN2A-20

The BN2A-20 is a variant of the Britten-Norman BN-2 Islander, a sturdy, twin-piston engine light utility aircraft renowned for island-hopping and multi-role operations globally. Its design prioritizes short take-off and landing (STOL) capability, allowing access to a wide range of airstrips.

The aircraft traces its origins to Britten-Norman, formed in 1953 in the United Kingdom by John Britten and Desmond Norman. The Islander first flew in 1965 and entered production shortly after. Through its history, manufacturing involved production overseas, including Romania, before finishing in Belgium, demonstrating its multinational production pedigree. Today, over 1,300 Islander aircraft have been built, and the BN-2 series remains in active service worldwide.

A range of platforms and access solutions are available for maintenance on this aircraft. These include a Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Super Service Stand, and Easyraise. Specific access solutions like Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform help service the Wing & Engine Pylon section for tasks involving the inlet, exhaust, and hydraulics. The Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley and Super Maintenance Platform support work on the Forward Fuselage, including cabin access and lighting systems, as well as the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG) for thorough inspection and maintenance.
