The BEAUFORT MK7 is a variant of the Bristol Beaufort torpedo bomber, produced by the Australian government’s Department of Aircraft Production (DAP). These Australian-built aircraft are collectively known as the DAP Beauforts. The type was foundational in the Royal Australian Air Force’s efforts during the South West Pacific theatre in World War II.
DAP began production of the Beaufort to meet urgent wartime needs, with the first aircraft test-flown in August 1941. The program continued until August 1944. Production included 60 Mk. VII models, which were vital for maritime patrol and bombing operations. In total, over 700 Australian-built Beauforts saw extensive service until the war’s conclusion.
Access solutions are indispensable for maintaining the BEAUFORT MK7, ensuring thorough upkeep of all aircraft sections. Platforms and stands can facilitate maintenance on the Nose Section (Windshield & Cockpit, Radome), the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG), and the Wing & Engine Pylon section (Engine Body, Inlet/Exhaust, Fuel Tanks/Pumps). Elevated work platforms and stands also support crucial access to the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabiliser, Rudder) and the AFT Fuselage, including APU Compartments and Rear Avionics. These systems are key for ensuring the aircraft’s continued operational readiness.
