BC12-D

The BC12-D is a foundational two-seat light aircraft, a key model in the enduring Taylorcraft series. Taylorcraft Aviation Corporation, the original manufacturer, traces its roots to C.G. Taylor’s designs in the 1930s, prioritizing economical and reliable personal aircraft. Robert J. Kuhlow represents a phase in the company’s complex manufacturing history, often linked to the continuation or revival of production for these classic aircraft. The BC12-D, commonly powered by a Continental 85 hp engine, is known for its side-by-side seating and performance specifications, including a 95 mph cruise speed and a low 35 mph landing speed.

Access platforms, modular stepover platforms, and scaffold are used for comprehensive coverage of the airframe, particularly the large Wing Box Area and AFT Fuselage, addressing needs for fuel tank and avionics maintenance. Specialized maintenance platforms and cantilever platforms provide necessary access for the Wing & Engine Pylon section, allowing technicians to reach all critical engine components.

Low-level service and repair around the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG) utilize smaller, focused stands and chocks. For the Nose Section (cockpit and avionics) and Forward Fuselage (cabin access), lightweight, portable platforms and ladder systems offer quick, precise reach. Bridge platforms facilitate movement over obstacles, ensuring uninterrupted movement across the aircraft for thorough maintenance.
