The B75N1 is a variant of the foundational Boeing-Stearman Model 75, a biplane widely known as the “Stearman.” It served as an indispensable primary trainer aircraft for the US Army and Navy during World War II, designated as the N2S-3, and was powered by the Continental R-670-4 engine. The B75N1 is a sturdy, single-engine aircraft with fixed conventional landing gear, characterized by its open cockpits and tandem seating.
The manufacturing history traces back to Boeing, a company founded by William E. Boeing in 1916 as Pacific Aero Products Company in Seattle, Washington. Boeing quickly became a leading force in aviation. Although the Stearman aircraft were originally produced by Stearman Aircraft, a subsidiary acquired by Boeing in 1934, their enduring design cemented Boeing’s reputation for dependable aircraft.
A range of platforms and access solutions are available for this aircraft to facilitate thorough maintenance.
For the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Nose Avionics, Windshield & Cockpit, Bulkhead), Modular Stepover Platforms and Super Service Stand ensure high-reach access. The Landing Gear (NLG + MLG) benefits from stable access via the Platform Ladder Warthog and Ultraraise.
General access needs across the Forward Fuselage, Middle Fuselage/Wing Box Area, and AFT Fuselage are met using the Bridge Deck and Cantilever Platform. For intricate work on the Wing & Engine Pylon, the A Frame Aviation Platform and Super Maintenance Platform provide safe, adjustable height working spaces for accessing the engine, pylon, and hydraulics. The Tail Section (Empennage) requires platforms like the Reach Deck Platform for height-specific work on the Vertical Stabiliser, Horizontal Stabiliser, and Rudder.
