The Beechcraft B60, part of the Duke series, is a high-performance, pressurized twin-engine aircraft manufactured by Beechcraft. Development for the Beechcraft Model 60 began in early 1965, intending to bridge the market gap between the smaller Baron and the larger Queen Air. The prototype’s first flight was on December 29, 1966. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issued the type certificate on February 1, 1968, with customer distribution beginning in July 1968.
The B60 variant was introduced in 1974, succeeding the original Model 60 and the A60. The B60 incorporated improved engine cooling and other incremental upgrades. Production of the Duke series continued until 1982, with a total of approximately 596 units built across all versions.
A range of access equipment is available for maintenance around the B60 aircraft. These items include platforms such as the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, Super Trestle Scaffold, Ultraraise, Easyraise, Bridge Deck, Cantilever Platform, A Frame Aviation Platform, and Platform Ladder Warthog, as well as the Super Service Stand, Aviation Chock and Cone Trolley, Branach Fibreglass Platform, and Super Maintenance Platform.
These platforms address accessibility across key aircraft sections. This includes the Nose Section for radome and avionics work, the Forward Fuselage for cabin and cargo access, and the Landing Gear (NLG and MLG) for detailed inspection. The equipment also facilitates work around the Middle Fuselage and Wing Box Area, supporting fuel and oil maintenance. Furthermore, the platforms are vital for access to the Wing and Engine Pylon areas, enabling maintenance on the engine and its components. Access is also improved for the AFT Fuselage and Tail Section (Empennage) for working on the stabilisers and rudder.
