B-26C

The B-26C, originally designated A-26C, is a powerful variant of the Douglas Invader, a light bomber and attack aircraft that saw extensive service from World War II through the Korean War and beyond. The “C” variant was distinguished by its glazed nose, which replaced the solid gun nose of the “B” model, enabling it to function as a formidable bomber or photo-reconnaissance aircraft (RB-26C). The aircraft was capable of carrying a large bomb load and featured a range of guns, establishing it as a foundationally fast and formidable ground-attack aircraft. It remained active in military use until the late 1960s.

The manufacturer, Douglas Aircraft, was established by Donald Douglas in 1920 in Santa Monica. The company played an indispensable role in US aviation history, producing numerous iconic military and civilian aircraft. The Invader series, first flown in 1942, was a major wartime success, with over 2,500 units built.

Maintaining this classic aircraft requires precise access. Platforms and stands support detailed maintenance for all sections, including the Nose Section (for the radome, antenna, and cockpit), the Wing & Engine Pylon (for the engines, anti-ice, and hydraulics), the Landing Gear, and the Tail Section (for the stabilizers and rudder). Access solutions like the Reach Deck Platform, Modular Stepover Platforms, and Super Trestle Scaffold facilitate methodical servicing across the entire airframe.
