The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is a supersonic, variable-sweep wing, heavy bomber foundational to the United States Air Force. Conceived in the 1960s to replace the B-52, the Lancer aimed to combine high speed with extensive range and payload capacity.
Rockwell International, a key aerospace manufacturer, developed the aircraft. The original B-1A program began in the 1970s, but it was canceled in 1977. Reborn as the B-1B, production aircraft were manufactured between 1983 and 1988, with the final unit delivered in May 1988. In total, 104 B-1 Lancer aircraft were built.
Maintaining this complex aircraft requires specialized access. Reach Deck Platforms and Modular Stepover Platforms support work across the Forward Fuselage, including accessing the Environmental Control System (ECS) and Forward Wheel Well. Sturdy Super Maintenance Platforms and Cantilever Platforms provide optimal reach for the Wing & Engine Pylon section, specifically for engine inlet and exhaust maintenance, and fan and turbine inspections. Ultraraise and Easyraise systems are ideal for detailed checks on the Nose Section (Radome, Antenna, Avionics) and the Tail Section (Vertical and Horizontal Stabilisers). Super Service Stands offer indispensable height for the AFT Fuselage, including APU Compartments. The Bridge Deck and Branach Fibreglass Platform are essential for comprehensive access across the middle fuselage and wing box areas, as well as general access across the airframe.
